H.Y.P.E. Recreation Center - Dearborn Heights
Camp H.Y.P.E. Summer 2012

At the new H.Y.P.E. Recreation Center, the love of learning doesn’t end with school. Our Summer Camp provides holistic, enriched environment to further develop your child’s innate desire to learn. Attendees will meet new friends in a safe, fun and creative environment!
Our Summer Camp consists of 11 one-week long sessions and includes H.Y.P.E.’s-enriched programs which consist of science, math, physical education, art and life skill awareness. Our highly qualified staff trained in child education and development will be facilitating the programs.
Our full day camp runs from 8:30am - 5:00pm with extended hours available from 7:00am to 6:30pm. Families in need of extra hours will have an additional cost of $5 more per day. The program is open to the public and available to all children between the ages of 5 - 12 years old. Sessions are available from June 18th through August 31st.
The programs include a broad range of activities designed to meet the academic and developmental needs of the child. Each day brings a balanced blend of learning with indoor and outdoor activities, as well as quiet group time. H.Y.P.E. will also host in-house presentations related to the following themes:

The fee is $125/week for members and $150/week for non-members, plus a $3 registration fee [online users only]. Parents may pre-register their child for any of the sessions by paying a $25 non-refundable, non-transferable fee to guarantee a spot for that session. This will be applied toward the total registration cost when the remaining balance is paid. This must be done prior to the beginning of the session. Children enrolled at the start of the session must pay in full. Fees will be pro-rated for the week of July 4th.
Summer campers will be provided with morning and afternoon snacks. Children who stay past noon MUST pack a healthy lunch everyday.

Premier Summer Basketball League 2012
H.Y.P.E. Athletics Community, a non-profit organization provides Southeastern Michigan’s finest youth basketball players with this one of a kind Premier Basketball League. The H.Y.P.E. Athletics Premier Basketball League will have its home at the new H.Y.P.E. Recreation Center. The H.Y.P.E. Athletics Premier Basketball League is for boys and girls and is limited to only 128 players per division. A separate boys and girls league gives the ultimate playing experience to the players. Each team will consist of 8 players. Our coaching staff is made of high school coaches, college athletes (past & present), and college coaches. Additional employment opportunity is given to local high school athletes as assistants. All games and practices will be held Monday through Friday throughout the entire season. LIMITED SPACE!!!!!!

Description: This fundamental training camp is for ages 6 – 14 and includes speed and agility, total offense and defense instruction and structured games. Participants will be divided by age and skill level.

H.Y.P.E. Athletics Premier AAU Basketball League 2012

The HYPE Athletics Premier A.A.U. Basketball League is a competitive basketball league comprised of players and teams from across the state. The league was formed for players and teams to continue to play basketball in a competitive environment while enhancing individual skills. Games will be be played twice weekly Monday - Friday starting May 21st through July. Each team will qualify for a single game elimination tournament at the end of the season. All games will be played at the new H.Y.P.E. Recreation Center. The cost will will be $1,500 per team for a 18 - 20 game season. Each team will be provided team uniforms with an additional fee of $30 per set. There are two divisions made up of a J.V. League for current High School Freshman and a Varsity league for current High School Sophomores and Juniors. Each team can consist of a maximum of 12 players.

Description: This camp is for ages 12 – 18. Want to control the paint? Join our experienced staff as we teach techniques for the post. Learn different foot work and maneuvers including power moves, drop steps and leverage techniques. Learn to be a scorer by the basket!

Description: This camp is for ages 12 – 18. Instruction will focus on the correct shooting techniques and form for jump shots, free throws, and shooting off the dribble. You will learn how to come off a pick for a shot, catch and shoot and how to create your own shot.

Our one of a kind Volleyball Training Clinic is for girls ages 8 - 14. The girls will be divided by age groups. This program will be held for 1 week. Join us as our trainers teach the basic levels of volleyball. From positions to serving, we will cover all areas of the sport. Our instructors have been trained and tested to teach the sport both verbally and physically.

Our Elite Soccer League invites soccer enthusiasts to compete in a one of a kind outdoor soccer league. H.Y.P.E.’s Elite Soccer League includes practices and games every M/W/F along with a two-day preseason fundamental player evaluation clinic and a full game uniform (shorts, jersey and socks). Teams will have 10-12 players including a goalie. Players will be divided into age groups and divisions including 4 - 5, 6 - 7, 8 - 9, 10 - 12, 13 - 14.

The first half hour of each session goes over the health topics, and the remaining hour and a half incorporate six aspects of physical activity: balance, stability, strength, endurance, speed and agility.

H.Y.P.E. is excited to announce its new wrestling division and will introduce the following programs in 2012:
H.Y.P.E. Elite Wrestling
H.Y.P.E. Elite will consist of the top wrestlers from the Metro Detroit area. The program will emphasize high level technique with a focus on mental toughness and elite conditioning. Guest clinicians will include coaches and wrestlers from colleges across the country. This program will range in
grades 5th through 12th.
H.Y.P.E. Junior Program (Downriver WC)
The H.Y.P.E. Youth Wrestling Program is excited to partner with the Downriver Wrestling Club in order to provide top notch instruction in the sport of wrestling. The program will be geared towards participants ages 4 through 14 and is available to beginner, novice and advanced wrestlers. The experienced staff of coaches will emphasize basic and advanced technique and mat strategy. Our philosophy is to instill a great work ethic with a deep knowledge and understanding of wrestling and what it takes to be successful.

H.Y.P.E. Football Series (H.F.S.)
H.Y.P.E. created the H.Y.P.E. Football Series (H.F.S.) to offer events to high school football players that provide developmental clinics, camps and competitions. The H.F.S.events focus on athletic development, speed and agility, technique, position specific drills
and competitive environments. The H.F.S. coaching staff consists of current college and high school coaches, and former and present professional and college football players including former Detroit Lion Pro Bowl WR Herman Moore.

Battle of the Gridiron Showcase - Summer 2012
About the Battle of the Gridiron
Detroit Lion’s All – Time Leading Receiver and NFL All – Pro Herman Moore (Scoutspy.com) has partnered with H.Y.P.E. Athletics to offer a showcase/clinic under the H.Y.P.E. Football Series (H.F.S.). The H.Y.P.E. Football Series will offer a series of events to Michigan high school football players to improve skills and showcase their talent to colleges from across the country. All events will be organized by the H.F.S. board members consisting of former professional and college football players, along with current high school football coaches.

Allen Park Basketball Camp
The basketball clinic will focus on basketball fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting, offense and defense. Speed and agility drills will also be implemented in order to improve each athlete’s coordination, quickness, explosiveness and overall fitness. Contests and games will be played daily.
The mission of H.Y.P.E. Athletics Community is to create and strengthen infrastructures that support the positive development of Wayne County youth through athletic participation and competition, educational tutoring and literacy development, and social awareness with mentoring, counseling, life skills training and substance abuse education and prevention.

H.Y.P.E. Athletics is offering two six-week sessions of our School of Basketball. The training program includes speed and agility, and development training in the entire game of basketball. The program will include 4 weeks of total offense and defense instruction and 2 weeks of games, which will offer a recreational level of competition. Participants will be divided by age. H.Y.P.E. Athletics staffs coaches with experience at the high school and/or collegiate level. All coaches have been tested in the physical and verbal training of the entire sport. Former NBA and Michigan “Fab 5” member Jimmy King will be joining the H.Y.P.E. coaches to help teach the participants the fundamentals of basketball.

Description: The camp is geared toward little league players ages 7 – 13 in Metro Detroit and developing fundamental skills in the game of football. The camp is non-contact and will cover motivational speeches, nutrition and diet, flexibility and running form, offense and defense drills, competitions and safety tips. Players will receive a free t-shirt and a speed & agility packet.

The H.Y.P.E. Elite Speed and Agility division has been created to develop an explosive and well rounded athlete. Our staff of coaches and trainers have years of experience in athletic development and sport specific skills in basketball, football, baseball, soccer, hockey, track, volleyball, wrestling, and lacrosse. The Elite Speed and Agility Training program has been designed to improve and build all aspects of each athlete that utilize the routine. This innovative routine gives the athlete the ability to change the body's position efficiently, and requires the integration of isolated movement skills using a combination of balance, coordination, speed, reflexes, strength, endurance and stamina. The H.Y.P.E. program specializes and focuses on the following development:
Dynamic Flexibility:
Stretching combined with backward, lateral, and forward movements in order to prevent injury and improve flexibility, range of motion, balance, and stability in an athlete.
Agility:
Drills and exercises that focus on foot quickness, lateral movement, first step explosion, and coordination in an athlete. Improves the ability for each athlete to move in space.
Plyometrics:
A type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system, generally for the purpose of improving performance in sports. Plyometrics are used to help the athlete jump higher, run faster, and be explosive. Stamina and conditioning will also be a focus of plyometric implemented exercises.
Speed Mechanics:
All drills and exercises work on building fast twitch muscles and focus on proper running form. This routine will improve motor skills and straight line speed.
Core Strength:
An athlete’s core is crucial in overall body strength and speed. Abdominal and lower back strength plays an important role in building a well rounded athlete.
Implementation of Sport Specific Skills:
The trainers and routine will implement skills, drills, and techniques from the specific sport the athlete is working on to improve.

2nd Annual St. Mary's Basketball Camp
Description: This camp is for boys and girls ages 6 – 14. The staff consists of collegiate and professional basketball players including former NBA player and U of M “Fab 5” member Jimmy King. The camp will implement coaching techniques, drills, competitions, and games. This program is designed to be a great learning experience. Every participant will receive a T-shirt and drink and snack daily. The registration deadline is Friday, June 15th.

Detroit Lion’s All – Time Leading Receiver and NFL All – Pro Herman Moore (Scoutspy.com) has partnered with H.Y.P.E. Athletics to offer a showcase/clinic under the H.Y.P.E. Football Series (H.F.S.). The H.Y.P.E. Football Series will offer a series of events to Michigan high school football players to improve skills and showcase their talent to colleges from across the country. All events will be organized by the H.F.S. board members consisting of former professional and college football players, along with current high school football coaches.

Camp instructors have over 25 years of combined playing, training, and coaching experience. The H.Y.P.E. staff will demonstrate the fundamentals of baseball. Our goal is to improve the overall skill and knowledge of the sport. Every participant will receive a free hat, T-shirt and will have a pizza party upon completion of the training camp.
