H.Y.P.E. Athletics

In 2001, H.Y.P.E. Athletics was formed to create and strengthen infrastructures that support the positive development of Wayne County youth through athletic participation and competition, educational tutoring and literacy development, and social awareness with mentoring, counseling, life skills training and substance abuse education and prevention. By ways of training camps, leagues, tournaments and training in various sports, we promote and educate youth to work with unity, teamwork, positive competition and physical fitness. More than 50,000 youth throughout Wayne County have taken part in at least one H.Y.P.E. program over the last eleven years.

 

Training Camps

Our year round athletic camps are dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of each sport while focusing on sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and positive attitude both on and off the court/field regardless of playing experience. Our camp goal for every participant is to gain maximum skill and knowledge through training of all aspects of the sport. The camps consist of drill work, contests, game play and the ability to learn from coaches that come with high school, college, and professional experience.

 

Athletic Leagues

6 - 12 week leagues are available throughout the year. Programs include an elite pre-season training clinic, pre-season practices and scrimmages, a full game uniform, 8-10 structured games, guaranteed playoffs, all-star games, awards ceremony and banquet. The  pre-season training clinic is offered to work on the fundamentals of the sport as well as evaluating participants to form each team.

 

Tournaments

Athletic tournaments are offered throughout the year. Competitive atmosphere encourages youth to play at the highest skill level. Tournaments are structured in the following formats including round robin, elimination rounds and bracket format. Athletic and recreation tournaments provide youth and adults alike an opportunity to grow physically, mentally and emotionally as they challenge themselves to win.

 

Personal Training

The personal training division of H.Y.P.E. Athletics specializes in developing well rounded athletes. The goals of our training division is to help every person optimize their full potential in any sport he or she participates in and to excel as an athlete. The routine and program is designed to accomplish the end result desired by every participant. Personal training sessions are available upon request.

Our elite staff have been trained and tested in their knowledge and skill in a variety of sports. All of our current and former high school, college athletes and coaches have completed testing of physical training, similar to what our participants go through. Many times we see that there are youth that require extra attention and may not understand a specific drill. We are prepared for this. Our method of training is like no other! The staff at H.Y.P.E. understands that every participant should be approached differently, and we ensure that all the knowledge and skill is taught and understood by each participant.
